The Detroit District Dental Society extends our deepest condolences and sympathy to the family and co-workers of Larry Kunze who has passed away in the beginning of July. Mr. Kunze was the co-founder and owner of Expertec Dental Lab in Westland, Michigan. Mr. Kunze was very involved in the dental field, often being asked to speak at many dental conventions and programs. Expertec has been a long time supported of the annual Detroit Dental Review.
The Detroit District Dental Society thanks him for his dedication to dentistry and his long and continued support of the dental profession and education in Michigan. Mr. Kunze was very well respected by the Southeastern Michigan Dental Community and he will be missed.

Obituary for Lawrence D. Kunze
Lawrence D. Kunze, age 70, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 while visiting good friends in Traverse City, MI. He was born June 29, 1948 to Donald and Audra (Waldrop) Kunze in Detroit, MI. On October 14, 2000, Lawrence married Vicki Lhota in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. They made their home in Belleville, MI for 15 years with the last 4 years residing in Howell, MI. After retirement, Vicki and Larry loved the the six months they spent in Florida. Larry lived life to the fullest. He was an all-in kind of guy. Through the years he has enjoyed RVing, boating, kayaking. His latest passion was bike riding. Lawrence was the co-founder and owner of Expertec Dental Lab in Westland for 15 years until his retirement. He was well respected in the dental field, often being asked to speak at the annual conventions. He is survived by his dear wife Vicki; brother Jay Kunze; sister Beverley Scotford; sons: Richard (Suzanne) Lhota, Jason (Jennifer) Lhota; grandsons: Hunter, Maxwell, Westin Lhota. A receiving of friends will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 beginning at 1:00 P.M. at Keehn Funeral Home, Brighton, MI with a memorial service at 2:30 P.M. also at Keehn Funeral Home. Rev. Carl F. Welser will be officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Kellogg Eye Center with a designation in the memo line for macular degeneration. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
