Monroe County Announces Distribution Sign-up for Covid Vaccine for Dental Professionals

January 5, 2021

Monroe County

The Monroe County Public Health Department will distribute the Covid Vaccine for Monroe County.  They are creating an internal list of all dental professionals to alert them when vaccine distribution is available. When the vaccine is available dental offices will sign up for appointments with the Monroe County Health Department for themselves and their staff.  The sign-up announcement will be sent to dental offices individually based on a master list being created.

Dentists who would like to receive this announcement can submit their name and contact information to the Detroit District Dental Society by online sign-up. This sign-up will ask each dental location to identify a point person, dentist or office manager, to sign up their team for appointments.  The Monore County Public Health Department follows the State of Michigan Covid Vaccine distribution hierarchy. The actual distribution date depends on the amount of vaccine they are receiving in the upcoming weeks.

Online Vaccine Sign-up Form Monroe Dental Professionals

The sign-up form will ask you for:

  • Dentist name, the city where the State of Michigan Dental License is registered and current.
  • A point person for your dental team can be the dentist or an office manager with full email, address, and phone contact for this person. This person will receive the notification for appointment sign-up for the vaccine and can not share the sign-up information with any other person or organization. The point person will sign-up your dental team.
  • An estimate or approximation of the number of dental professionals your office anticipates to have this vaccine at this time. Note if this number changes, that is okay – an estimate is all that is needed at this time.
  • Acknowledgment that the vaccine at this delivery is for your dental professionals who directly contact patients and are at high risk for Covid-19 virus transmission. Dentists, hygienists, dental assistants are in this category. The sign-up is not for receptionists, billers, or janitors, who do not directly have contact with Covid-19. Dental professionals will use their professional judgment in making this determination for their team.
  • Questions – that you have for the Monore County Health Department.

The online form is being hosted by the Detroit District Dental Society, working cooperatively with the Monore County Public Health Department to get information to dental teams as soon as possible.  Those using the form do not have to be a member of the Michigan Dental Association to use the form.
