First Steps in treating Patients with Special Needs - April 7, 2026 Hybrid Meeting

We do not know what it is like to be blind, hearing impaired, living with autism, navigating daily in a wheelchair, facing the world without vision, and many other challenges faced by some on a daily basis.  There are many patients who have special needs, challenges, disabilities.  Many dentists and their staff have no personal experience with direct interaction with individuals who require extra help to deal with the physical and metal challenges for an effective dental appointment.  If you're assisting or working with someone with additional needs, learning to effectively provide assistance is extremely beneficial to the individual, and offers huge benefits to workplace/interpersonal dynamics of you and your staff.  This presentation is to be an introduction to your facility to explore treating more patients with special needs, bring you more resources, and/or expand your current services to this population.  It is the full dental team who can learn from this presentation, and make suggestions, simple office accommodations, where to find facts sheets and more resources, and how to improve the patient experience.

2. Live In-person Meeting - The panel of speakers will be together live and in-person at the dental training center for Great Expressions, 29777 Telegraph Rd, Suite 3000 Southfield, MI 48034.  You are welcome to join the audience there.  Please register for the live meeting.
